Purpose | To increase the involvement of undergraduate students in mentored research. To encourage undergraduates to pursue graduate level study and research. |
Eligibility | Awards will be made to NMSU researchers to provide support for undergraduate student research for a maximum of twelve consecutive months. |
Award Details |
The OVPR will provide up to $2,500 dollar-for-dollar matching support per student per year; a URIG award must be matched by the student’s advisor, department, and/or college. |
Grantee Responsibilities | The faculty advisor and undergraduate student team must submit to the OVPR a report of accomplishments at the end of the appointment. URIG recipients must participate in the annual Undergraduate Research and Creative Arts Symposium by presenting a poster or an oral presentation; OVPR presents awards to the best poster and the best presentation by URIG recipients. |
